Due to her father’s job in the Indian Air Force, Nayanthara did her schooling in Jamnagar, Gujarat, Delhi, and also studied at Balikamadom Girls Higher Secondary School, Thirumoolapuram, Thiruvalla. After that, She attended  Marthoma College, Thiruvalla and earned Graduation degree in English Literature.

Nayanthara born on 18 November 1984 is the daughter of Kurian Kodiyattu and Omana Kurian. Her father Kurian Kodiyattu is a retd. Indian Air Force official. She belongs to a Syrian Christian family. Her elder brother’s name is Lenu Kurian, who lives in Dubai, UAE.

Nayanthara was in a relationship with Silambarasan, And their relationship ended after a few months.  Her kissing pictures with her first boyfriend Silambarasan went viral on the internet which impacted her professional and social image.

After that, In 2010, Nayanthara and Prabhu Dva fell in love with each other and the couple had started living together, and also decided to get married. Since Prabhu Deva was already married, his wife Latha filed a petition at the family court and Ramlath accused her of stealing her husband. She threatened to go on a hunger strike if Prabhu Deva married Nayanthara and several women’s organisations also conducted protests against Nayanthara for bringing dispute in Tamil culture and also burned an effigy of her. In 2012, Nayantara confirmed that she had ended her relationship with Prabhu Deva.

On 9 June 2022, Nayanthara got married in an intimate ceremony in Chennai. wedding was attended by their families and a few close friends . Four months after the wedding Vignesh took to Instagram to announce that they have welcomed twin boys through surrogacy.
