Breif Detail
Development on the film began in early 2013 when Tiwari began writing the script. Khan had interviewed the Phogat sisters in 2014 on his talk show Satyamev Jayate, before Tiwari approached him with the script months later, after which Khan became the lead actor and producer.
Dangal was a commercial success, setting several records at the box office including highest-grossing Indian film, and the 28th highest-grossing non-English film.
Geeta easily advances to the final in the games while competing in the 55 kg division. Mahavir, who is watching from the audience, repeatedly defies Pramod’s orders, but she obeys those of her father. Just prior to the gold medal match, Mahavir is locked in a room by Pramod out of resentment.
Casting
For the parts of Khan’s on-screen daughters, Taapsee Pannu, Deeksha Seth, and Akshara Haasan were being considered in March 2015. The daughters, who were from the Jat community of the Balali hamlet of Bhiwani, Haryana, were portrayed by Shaikh and Malhotra in a movie in April.
Filming
Shaikh and Malhotra examined numerous wrestling movies to study “how wrestlers move, walk, and their body language” in order to prepare for the part. Malhotra and Sheikh underwent physical training, five rounds of auditions, and workshops with Tiwari and Khan. Coach and veteran wrestler Kripa Shankar Patel Bishnoi prepared them.
When filming for Dangal from January 2016 to April 2016, Khan regained the physique he had chosen for Dhoom 3 and put a stop to Dangal production during that time. From September 2015 to December 2015, Khan gained 9% fat, weighing around 98 kg.
